Development Services for the Vienna based sports-tech startup eversports.com. The platform allows users to find and book sports activities in their area.

The Problem

Moving from MVP to a scalable architecture

Eversports approached us as they were heading into a critical relaunch of their product. They needed profound technical expertise in connecting payment service providers when transferring their Drupal-based MVP to a scalable node.js-based stack.

After the development of a first prototype or MVP, startups are often faced with the tough decision to either stick to their initial tech-stack that served well for rapid prototyping, or to partially or fully re-code the product for a scalable architecture. This requires specific knowledge as well as the power to execute in a smooth and fast manner, in order to retain and increase the customer base.

The Solution

Short term team increase leading to long term collaboration

The collaboration initially started out as a two month project, intented to support the core development team of Eversports, as they were facing a critical relaunch deadline. The aim was to assist them by providing our expertise from previous projects in the areas of payment providers and the handling of invoices.

After the initial 2 months phase proved to be a successful collaboration, Eversports decided to incorporate two developers from TheVentury into their core team for further 3 years in order to transfer knowledge and have full support on the upcoming projects and challenges. When the core team felt confident in the key topics we transitioned to an on-demand consulting contract.

Within this period our developers designed and implemented not only the development of complex and essential parts, such as the payment system and a fully compliant cash register software for sports studios, but also trained other team members and consulted on managerial decisions when necessary.

However, after 2 developers of TheVentury became part of the Eversports team for these months, the collaboration was quickly extended and lasted for more than 3 years, before the key knowledge was transferred to the core team and the collaboration transformed into an on-demand consulting contract.
